Paul Digby
Paul
Digby is President of Digby and Associates Inc. The company specializes
in corporate leadership and strategic managing consulting services.
Paul
retired from education in 2010 after 33 years of service. He was a
Secondary School Principal for 14 years including Regina Mundi Catholic
College, Holy Cross Catholic Secondary School and St. Thomas Aquinas
Catholic Secondary School.
Since 2010, Paul has worked as a
Consultant with the Ministry of Education in Toronto regarding Student
Success. He is also a quality monitor for E.Q.A.O.
Paul received
his Honours Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education degrees from
Western University and a Master of Science in Education degree from
Niagara University: New York. Paul also has certifications in Conflict
Management from Western University, Alternative Dispute Resolution from
Stitt Feld Handy Group and Coaching/Mentoring from the The Ministry of
Education.
Lisa Harrison
Lisa Harrison is an
organizational strategist and leader, who has been focused on the
technology, health care and professional services sector for over 20
years. Throughout her career however, she has undertaken various roles
and functional areas across a number of industries including
not-for-profit, retail and insurance.
Currently, Lisa is VP,
Operations at Robarts Clinical Trials and oversees all international
operations. Just prior she was consulting with a fast growing and high
change organization to help them align and organize their operations and
structure to support their strategies and objectives, ensuring they
were ready for that next stage of growth. Previously Lisa served as VP,
Delivery Partner and VP of Organizational Development at Autodata
Solutions, as Chief Operating Officer for an international research
consulting firm, and as Regional Manager and Director of Employee
Development for LGS Group Inc., an IBM Company. The roles go back even
further, but she is reticent to show her age!
Lisa earned her
Bachelor of Arts Degree from Western University. Her continuing
education activities resulted in a certificate of Health Care
Administration from Fanshawe College, certificates in Alternative
Dispute Resolution (Level 1 Advanced) from the University of Windsor,
and a certificate in Advanced Strategic HR Management from Rotman School
of Business.
Lisa's community activities have included various
volunteer and Board positions such as the London Middlesex Immigrant
Employment Council, the Canadian Club of London, The Children's Museum,
Children's International Summer Villages, Junior Achievement, various
health groups and the Fanshawe College Board of Governors. She is the
proud mother of an extremely talented daughter!
Mike Elkassem
Mike
Elkassem was born and raised in London. After attending the University
of Windsor, he launched a successful career in the private sector.
Over the past 20 years, Mike has been involved in numerous business
ventures ranging from building and facility maintenance, import and
export of finished goods and property development and management.
An
active and dedicated board member of a local private school and of
Vanier Children's Services, Mike has devoted considerable time and
energy to improving educational opportunities for London's youth. He is
also a founding member of an internationally recognized charity
focusing on mental health and integration of vulnerable communities.
An avid golfer and hockey enthusiast, Mike is married with three children.
Ashley Conyngham
Ashley
has a strong background in strategic communications, planning and
execution as well as media, stakeholder, community and government
relations. Ashley brings a wealth of experience from almost a decade of
working in provincial politics where she held a number of positions
including Chief of Staff for the MPP of London West and Senior Advisor
to the Minister of Energy at Queens Park.
In addition to her love
of politics, Ashley has a passion for building relationships,
facilitating effective partnerships and taking advantage of the power of
collaboration. Ashley has taken on a number of other challenging
projects in both independent consulting as well as in roles of Community
Relations and Government Relations at Western University.
Ashley
is active in the community as a volunteer and is a strong advocate for
London. Ashley sits on the Brescia University College Foundation Board
and is very involved with the Centre for Research & Education for
Violence Against Women & Children.
Ashley has a Bachelor of
Arts, Honours degree from Western University in political science and
philosophy with a minor in ethics as well as a diploma from Fanshawe
College. Ashley completed graduate study course work in political
science at the University of Waterloo.
Ashley is an avid athlete
and continues to participate in both team and individual sports
including swimming, baseball and football.
Purveen Skinner
Purveen
Skinner is a Learning Supervisor for the Thames Valley District School
Board with responsibilities for First Nations, Metis and Inuit
Programming as well as Pathways for Student Success. With over
twenty-five years of experience as an educator, she is committed to
providing students with a safe, inclusive and respectful learning
environment. Purveen has worked as a classroom teacher, an English as a
Second Language Teacher, a Vice-Principal and a Principal to support
students, staff and families in achieving their goals. She is
passionate about positively impacting student learning and continuously
seeks opportunities to collaborate and find innovative solutions to
challenges.
Purveen studied Political Science at McGill
University and has a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of
Windsor as well as a Master of Educational Leadership degree from
Charles Sturt University in Australia.
Purveen is honoured to be a
member of the Board of Directors for CAS and looks forward to working
alongside fellow Board members to serve the London community.
Dr. Laura Lyons
Dr.
Laura Lyons is a family physician and the Medical Director at St.
Joseph's Family Medical Centre. She is an Associate Professor and full
time faculty member in the Department of Family Medicine at the Schulich
School of Medicine & Dentistry at Western University. In addition
to practising comprehensive family medicine, Dr. Lyons performs high
volume primary care obstetrics at the London Health Sciences Centre.
She serves as the Family Medicine Obstetrics Medical Director for the
London Citywide Department of Family Medicine.
Dr. Laura Lyons is
a community leader and educator. She has a focused expertise in
addictions in pregnancy. Her community involvement includes committee
representation and collaboration with the Middlesex London Health Unit,
Addiction Services of Thames Valley, Vanier Children's Services and
Perinatal Mental Health Services, as well as the Children's Aid Society
of London and Middlesex. Dr. Lyons is active in research and presents
regularly at conferences on pregnancy and psychosocial risks, mental
health and addictions. Through her clinical work and teachings Dr.
Lyons is a strong advocate for vulnerable families.
Kara James
Kara
has been working in communications for over 20 years with experience
that spans a wide range including radio and TV broadcasting, media
relations, social media and community strategy, and teaching. Born and
raised in London, she holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature
from Western University as well as two post-graduate diplomas in
Montessori education from the Toronto Montessori Institute. Currently,
Kara is the Communications Manager for the Faculty of Engineering at
Western University.
Kara is a fervent supporter of local live
music and in her spare time, handles publicity, promotion, and social
media for a variety of artists. She is passionate about serving the
London community and promoting diversity and cultural awareness within
the Forest City. She is the proud mother of two wonderful daughters.
Mitch McGrath
Mitch
was born and raised in Burlington, Ontario. After attending Brock
University for his Bachelor of Accounting, he articled with a couple Big
4 accounting firms in their tax departments before leaving public
accounting to try out the private industry. After working at the head
office of a multinational corporation in the tax department for a year,
he and his fiancé decided
to relocate to London. Mitch joined the tax team at BDO as a Manager
in January 2017 and specializes in tax planning for owner-manager
corporations and high-net worth individuals. Mitch is a CPA, CA and has
also completed the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Course and considers himself
a life-long student always looking for his next learning opportunity.
Mitch and his fiancé are
foodies and have enjoyed exploring the amazing restaurants in the
London area and are proud to call London home. Mitch is an avid golfer
and hockey and baseball fanatic (Go Jays!). He has also coached junior
hockey at various levels in the past.
Camille Ross
Camille
Ross is a former Network News Anchor and Morning Television Host who
spent a decade working in the high-pressure, deadline-driven world of
breaking news. From field reporting to the anchor desk with Global News
and CTV News, she has covered everything from political scandals and
gruesome crimes to natural disasters and the Grand Prix. She has
conducted thousands of high profile live interviews, and reported from
the front lines that make up our headlines.
Camille earned her
Bachelor of Journalism degree at Ryerson University in Toronto, before
moving to small town Saskatchewan to get her on-air start. From there
she moved to CTV Montreal as a field reporter and later launched the
local morning show for Global TV. She and her team built the show from
the ground up, and quickly turned it into Montreal's top rated morning
news program.
Camille launched a Media Training practice in London
where she helps professionals prepare for media interviews,
presentations and public speaking engagements. She works with business
executives, entrepreneurs, public associations, labour unions and individuals looking to master their communication skills in both public and private settings.
In
addition to media training, Camille is committed to working with and
mentoring today's young journalists as a Broadcast Journalism Instructor
at Fanshawe College. She also believes that effective communication
stems from knowing your community and being involved. She serves
various Canadian charities that support children.
Chris Sinal
Chris
Sinal is a lawyer at Siskinds LLP practicing management-side labour and
employment law. Chris primarily advises unionized clients in the
manufacturing, health-care, and broader public sectors. Chris also has
significant experience in human rights, occupational health and safety,
and construction labour law, and regularly appears before the Ontario
Human Rights Tribunal and the Ontario Labour Relations Board.
In
addition to his work with the Children's Aid Society of London &
Middlesex, Chris is also the Vice Chancellor of the Anglican Diocese of
Huron, and a member of the Huron University College Corporation. He is
past Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors of Addictions Services of
Thames Valley, and is a past member of the Board of Governors of Western
University.
